Travel up in the glass-fronted lifts to one of the three spectacular viewing platforms, or for more thrills and excitement, SkyWalk round the pergola at 192 metres up or SkyJump off the Tower! Relax with a coffee and light refreshments at Sky Lounge, enjoy a seafood feast at The Observatory Restaurant or dine at Orbit - Aucklands only 360-degree revolving restaurant. Sky Tower is one of New Zealands most exhilarating and spectacular tourist attractions, you will be amazed at what you can see and do under one roof. Transfer to the Auckland Museum. (Transfers not included) The Auckland Museum expert guides take you through the galleries and describe some of our most important collections, taonga (treasures), objects and specimens with fascinating histories and stories. You will explore our pre-eminent collection of Maori and Pacific material culture, our unique natural environment, and the conflicts that helped shape New Zealand into what it is today. One of our greatest treasures is the building itself, one of New Zealand’s finest heritage buildings. Learn about its architecture, significance and decorative elements. The guides are extensively trained and accredited by the Museum, and they volunteer to share their special knowledge and passion for the Museum and its collections with visitors. Tours are available three times a day and duration one hour.
Day 1: Auckland
Today use the Explorer Bus to see all of Auckland’s well known sights. Hop on and off at all or some of the sights/attractions including Bastian Point lookout, Kelly Tarlton’s Antarctic Encounter and Underwater World, Rose Park Gardens, Holy Trinity Cathedral, Auckland Museum, Parnell Village, Civic Theatre, Sky Tower, Victoria Park Market and Americas Cup Viaduct Harbour.
