Day 1: Ulaanbaatar
Arrival in Ulaanbaatar, our guide and driver will meet us at the airport and aid with check-in at the central hotel. We take a tour of the city, including the Gandan Buddhist Monastery, Mongolian National Museum and Genghis Monument on the Sukhbaatar Square.
Day 2: Ulaanbaatar - Amarbayasgalant
This morning we drive to the north toward Lake Huvsgul, break our journey in magnificent Amarbayasgalant monastery and the picturesque Bulgan province in the northern Mongolia. On Day 4 we continue the drive through the forest mountains of northern Mongolia to Moren, a small town in the north
Day 3: Amarbayasgalant - Bulgan
3.5 hour drive north with a stop at the famous Uushig Deer Stones from time immemorial takes us to the shores of Lake Huvsgul, called “Mother Ocean” by the locals, enjoy hiking etc. We spend the night at friendly Toilogt ger camp by the lake. Day 6 is spent in leisurely activities and sightseeing on Lake Huvsgul and its surroundings - admire the inspiring beauty of Lake Huvsgul on a panoramic drive to Mt.Khyasaa, visit the Tsaatans "Reindeer people" and enjoy a 2 hour kayaking.
This morning we rise early to take one last look at the beautiful Lake Huvsgul and then drive to the south toward Karakorum, the ancient capital. We break our journey in Jargalant Hot Springs in the ardent Khangai mountains.
Day 5: Moren
A drive south takes us to the stunning Lake Terkhiin Tsagaan, surrounded by volcanoes and home to many species of wild bird. We hike to the Khorgo Volcano and other interesting sites in the park. On Day 9 we reach the lost capital of Genghis Khan at Karakorum via lovely Tsetserleg town to visit the sites. On Day 10 we visit the legendary Tuvkhun monastery in the Orkhon river valley.
Day 6: Moren - Lake Huvsgul
We visit the magnificent Erdene Zuu Monastery and its surroundings then drive to the Great Gobi desert. Visit the Ongi monastery ruins and then reach Bayanzag the Flaming Cliffs - the world famous red cliffs that is a great site for dinosaur remains.
Day 7: Lake Huvsgul
After spending a full leisure day at Bayanzag enjoying some camel ride and visit to a real nomadic camel breeders we continue our journey to the Khongor sand dunes, the largest and the most beautiful sand dunes of Mongolia, where we have the chance to climb to the top for excellent views of the Gobi, or to walk through the green oasis at the base. Then we visit the stunning Yoliin Am Gorge in the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan national park and hike on the Gobi glacier and view wildlife. Then we drive to the north and stop at the fascinating Tsagaan Suvarga - an ancient inland sea bottom.
Day 8: Lake Huvsgul - Moren
We drive through the beautiful Gobi deserts capes to the north and reach Ikh Gazariin Chuluu - an interesting granite rock formation in the Middle Gobi. On Day 18 we have a great leisure day in amazing Gun-Galuut, which is located in the valley of the Kherlen River. We hike to Mt. Baits to view the gorgeous Argali mountain sheep and the White Napped Crane, Whooper Swan and other birds. Visit a nomadic family and learn their ways to tend their livestock. Optional fishing or kayaking on the river Kherlen.
Day 9: Moren - Jargalant
This morning we drive to Ulaanbaatar with a stop at Giant Genghis Monument and transfer to the hotel. Then we visit the Bogd Khaan’s Palace Museum – the residence of the last king of Mongolia and the Buddha Park. Enjoy a traditional folklore concert and farewell dinner in the evening.
Day 10: Jargalant
Transfer to the airport after breakfast.
