After araival at Mumbai airport directly transferred to CST Railway Station(formerly called VT) to board the Deccan Odyssey Maharaja train & depart by 1630 hrs.Hi-Tea & Dinner on board. Train travels through the Night to Ratnagiri.
Day 2: Ratnagiri
After early breakfast, greeted to warm Konkani welcome at Bhoke Railway Station. Drive through the agriculturally rich Ratnagiri district to board local Fishing trawler & enjoy backwater cruise on Shastri River from Rai Jetty to Jaigarh jetty.
Day 3: Jaigadh
Early morning the train moves to Sindhunagari Railway station. After early breakfast, board Air Conditioned Bus to Malvan jetty. Enroute enjoy optional walk through weekly local village bazaar(market). Later board small canoe to visit 17th century built Sea Fort of Sindhudurg ,also famous for it's Shivaji's temple. Drive to Tarkarli beach on Arabian Sea to enjoy sumptuous lunch & leisurely swim.
Day 4: Ganapatipule - Ratnagiri
Early morning the Royal train moves to Karmali railway station & the guests are greeted to a warm welcome by Goan musicians. Morning Visit the world Heritage site of 16th century Old Portuguese built churches. Time free to visit Panjim (Panaji) & walk through the living streets of this former Portuguese Colonial town.
Day 5: Ratnagiri
This former capital of Peshwa Empire,in 18th century is now fast emerging as the latest Information Technology Hub in Western India. After breakfast on board,visit campus of famous Pune University & drive past Jewish Synagogue. Discover to your taste,the personal collections of a single person-related to Indian arts & crafts at <a class="PIInfosoft-placeName" onclick="openAttractionDescriptionPopup('en', 'ALT','PNQ','IND','India');" data-target="#PopUp5" href="javascript:void(0)" data-toggle="modal">Kelkar Museum</a>. Also visit ruins of 18th century built Shaniwar-Wada Fort from where the Peshwa Brahmin rulers controlled most of Central India, before loosing in battle to British colonial army in early 19th century. Later,walk through the extensive grounds of Agha Khan palace,where Mahatma Gandhi was imprisoned during most of Second World war by the British Rulers.
Day 6: Sindhudurg - Tarkarli
After early breakfast, greeted by local dancers at Aurangabad Railway Station. Proceed to visit the quaint & interesting <a class="PIInfosoft-placeName" onclick="openAttractionDescriptionPopup('en', 'A87','IXU','IND','India');" data-target="#PopUp5" href="javascript:void(0)" data-toggle="modal">Daulatabad Fort</a>,which was initially built in 12th century by a Yadava King on a small hill.This Fort was later fortified by Mohammed-Bin-Tuglaq, who briefly shifted the capital of his Muslim sultanate from Delhi to Aurangabad area in 14th century. Nearby are located the World Heritage Cave murals of Ellora,dating between 6th century to 12th century A.D. Out of these 34 caves,most interesting are Cave No. 16(Hindu Kailasha Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva);Cave No.10 (Buddhist Mahayana sect);Cave No.32(Jain sculptures).
Day 7: Tarkarli - Sawantwadi
After early breakfast drive 2 hrs to reach Ajanta Caves T-point & board recently introduced eco-friendly buses to reach base of World Heritage site of Ajanta Buddhist caves. Start climb of 100 steps to discover the 30 Buddhist cave murals of Hinyana & Mahayana sect. Most interesting to visit are the 6th century Frescoes in Cave No 1 & 2; Oldest cave No.10 dating back to 2nd century BC; cave No.17 & 19. Return to Jalgaon Railway Station & depart for Nasik Town. Lunch & Hi-tea on board.
Day 8: Sawantwadi
Deccan Odyssey Train arrives at World Heritage Site of CST Station(formerly called VT) by 0800 hrs. you can bid adieu to your hosts & fellow-passengers after early breakfast. Upon arrival at railway station assistance & transfer to hotel. Evening free or sightseeing. Overnight at hotel.
Day 9: Goa
Transfer to airport, catch flight for onward destination.
