Day 1: Delhi
Arrive Delhi, assistance on arrival and transfer to the hotel.
Morning transfer to railway station for your train to Amritsar (ETD 0720hrs. ETA 1300hrs.) Day 3: Amritsar
Morning after breakfast drive about 5hrs. to heritage village of India at Paragpur. our overnight stay will be in Judges Court (heritage hotel), set in fruit orchids, here you will be looked after by its charming owner and family. Morning after breakfast a short drive (65 kms/ 1 hr), to the headquarters of H.H. the Dalai Lama . O/n Hotel.
Day 5: Paragpur
Explore the bustling bazaars and old medical centre; visit gompas; meet the local Tibetan people or walk in woods. O/n hotel.
Day 6: Paragpur - Dharamshala
Morning visit to Dalai Lamas residence and monastery to attend H.H. Dalai Lamas birthday. O/n hotel.
Day 7: Dharamshala
After breakfast Short drive (26kms/ 1 hr), to the Tea estate of Palampur,in Kangra Valley. This drive takes us along the tumbling Beas River, through dense blue pine forests. We arrive in Plalampur and stay 1 night in a delightful Heritage Hotel- Taragarh Palace, commanding lovely views of the Duladhar mountain range. The hotel is set in <a class="PIInfosoft-placeName" onclick="openAttractionDescriptionPopup('en', 'AJX','PLM','IND','India');" data-target="#PopUp5" href="javascript:void(0)" data-toggle="modal">Tea Gardens</a>, a perfect place to unwind and relax. Afternoon visit to Tashijong Monastery and school also visit to Bajnath Shiva temple, the temple is a good example of the Nagri style of architecture. overnight in Taragarh Palace.
Day 8: Dharamshala
After breakfast we drive (195 kms/ 8hrs), This drive takes us along the tumbling Beas River, through dense blue pine forests. Arrive Manali and Stay in Hotel.
Day 9: Dharamshala
Manali full day visit to Hadimba Devi temple, Vashisth hot sulphur springs, Hanuman temple. Evening free to stroll in the local bazaar. O/n hotel.
Day 10: Dharamshala - Palampur
After breakfast we drive about 6hrs. (115kms) to Keylong over Rothang Pass (3980 M), which offers spectacular views of Pir Panjal Range and Lahauls haunting beauty. O/n Simple Guest house.
Day 11: Palampur
After breakfast we drive about 7hrs. (107 kms) to Sarchu, over Baralacha La (4892 M). O/n fixed camp.
After breakfast drive about 9hrs. (253 kms) to Leh, over Lachalang La (5065 M), & Tanglang La (5360 M). O/n Hotel.
Day 13: Manali
Leh free day to acclimatize. O/n hotel.
Day 14: Manali
Leh After breakfast, a half day trip to the 200 year old Shankar monastery, which contains a plethora of impressive images, wall paintings and sculptures, including a huge statue of Aloketesvara-with 1000 arms & heads. Next stop is the Japanese built peace Pagoda (Shanti Stupa). The winding road leading to it offers enthralling views of the surrounding countryside. Crowned with a massive dome, this stupa is reminiscent of Nalanda and Rajgir stupas. Afternoon, visit a Ladakhi Buddhist family and share a cup of butter tea, tsampa (roasted barley) and tschang (fermented barley beer), and see their the way of living. Dinner and overnight in the hotel.
Leh - Full day of sightseeing, visiting the three most important monasteries of Ladakh - Hemis Gompa, Thiksey Gompa and Shey Palace. Hemis is one of the largest and wealthiest monasteries in Ladakh and houses about 150 monks; it also stages the annual Hemis festival. The Gompa, nestled in a gorge and surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery, was built in the 18th century and houses a wide range of beautiful frescoes, thankas, Buddha statues and an excellent library. On the way back to Leh, we visit the superbly situated, 16th century, Thiksey Gompa, which is perched on a hill top. The Gompa houses an important collection of Tibetan-style books, a huge Buddha statue and some excellent works of art. Last stop is the ruined Shey Palace, once the summer palace of the pre-Tibetan kings. The palace monastery houses a large, bronze, blue haired Buddha statue. Back to Leh hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 16: Keylong
Morning after breakfast drive about 5hrs. (125 kms) to visit the Lamayuru monastery, visit Yangdrung monastery - the oldest monastic establishment in Ladakh, set on a high boulder. Afternoon drive to Uletokpo. O/n camp.
Morning after breakfast visit to Ridzong monastery and Nunnery (about 3hrs. walk). Later drive about an hour to Alchi, visit the monastery. O/n hotel/ guest house.
Day 18: Sarchu
Morning after breakfast drive to Leh takes about 3hrs.(70 kms). Enroute visit Likir monastery one of the biggest "yellow hats" monastery in Sham Valley. Also visit the huge open Buddha statue. O/n hotel
After early breakfast, drive about 6hrs. to the mystical Nubra Valley over the exhilarating Khardungla Pass (5600m.), the highest point of our journey. The views from the top are spectacular; extending, to the south, across the Indus Valley to the seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range. To the north, the views of the mighty peaks of the Saser Massif are amazing. We continue driving over the fairly rough road to Diskit monastery and if time permits also visit hunder monastery. From here continue drive to Tegger village, where we will spend the next two nights in comfortable camp. Evening free.
Day 20: Leh
After breakfast proceed for a day excursion to Panamik, the last village on this circuit. Panamik, now a sleepy village, was once a major trade centre for merchants. Here we will visit hot springs. Later drive back to camp, enroute visit the holy lake. O/n camp.
Day 21: Leh
Morning visit Samsthaling monastery, near your camp. Later drive back to Leh, over the Khardungla Pass. Overnight in hotel. Evening free.
Day 22: Leh
Leh a free day to stroll in the local bazaar and meeting people. O/n hotel.
Day 23: Leh
Morning transfer to the airport for flight to Delhi. Arrive Delhi and drive straight to Agra (5hrs /220kms.). O/n hotel.
Day 24: Leh - Lamayuru
Early morning visit <a class="PIInfosoft-placeName" onclick="openAttractionDescriptionPopup('en', 'A09','AGR','IND','India');" data-target="#PopUp5" href="javascript:void(0)" data-toggle="modal">Taj Mahal</a> for sunrise view. After breakfast visit Agra Fort. Later drive back to Delhi and transfer straight to International airport.
