Day 1: Kolkata
Day 02 : Kolkata - Pelling via Bagdogra
Upon arrival report to the Police station for the record. Full day for the proper acclimatization and the local visits including the nunnery perched on top of the hill lock. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 4: Pelling
We begin our trek with a walk out of the Uttarey village towards Chittrey. We will negotiate the river crossing and an uphill walk through the semi tropical forest to reach Chittrey, a flat green pasture land where we will stop for lunch. Nice view of the Rhododendron forest from the flat pasture land. We will continue our uphill walk till we reach Chewa. There is a police check post for recording the necessary information. Chewa is located on the top of the hill from where the border with Nepal is demarcated. The white piller-like structure is the only way to find out if we are in Nepal or in Sikkim. Rest of the time at leisure. Overnight at the camp. Walking duration: 05 - 06 hours.
Day 5: Pelling - Uttarey
Today is the mixture of both the uphill and the down hill walk along the India-Nepal border called the Falakay Dhara. The vegetation becomes more barren but very scenic with views of the countryside and cowherds on both Nepal and India side. On a clear day, we can have a beautiful view of Darjeeling from here. The final hours of the walk are on the loose stones to reach our campsite a Dhud. Walking duration: 06 - 07 hours.
Day 6: Uttarey
Rise up to the beautiful early morning sunrise on the Kanchendzonga ranges including the Kumbarkarna and Kanchendzonga. This mountain ranges will not leave us from here onwards. A relatively easy day today with a steep walk for an hour to reach Kokchey Deorali (hidden valley) from where we descend for an hour to Kokchey. A flat walk for an hour and half will reach us to Sikkim Megu where there is trekkers hut. View of the Dafey Bhir (the highlight of the trek) is visible from here. Overnight at the camp. Walking duration: 04 hours.
Day 7: Uttrey
On the Indian part is Sikkim Megu and on the Nepal side is Parey Megu, where we are headed today. The imposing Dafey Bhir is clearly visible today. The walk is a mixture of both the uphill and the downhill one but shorter day today to prepare our self for the longer and the more difficult one tomorrow. Depending on the water condition we will camp either at Parey Megu or in Garakhet where there is a trekkers hut. Camp overnight Walking duration: 04 hour.
Day 8: Chewa
An early start to negotiate the difficult Dafey Bhir today. The walk is the mixture of both the steep uphill and down hill one. The Lam Pokhari lake is enroute. After negotiating the twin pass of Dafey Bhir, we will take the steep decend for an hour to reach our beautiful camp site at Gomathang. The final part of the steep descend is through the dense forest of Rhododendron. Walking duration: 07 - 08 hours.
Day 9: Chewa
A relatively easy day today. We will take an hours walk to our camp site from where we will take the 05 - 06 hours excursion to Majur Pokhari, the lake. This lake is a very sacred lake for the local community. Camp overnight.
Day 10: Dhud
A beautiful walk of both the uphill and down hill one but not very steep, with the Kanchenjunga mountain ranges overlooking you. After 3 hours walk we will come across a small lake at Yangshep. Most of the walk is on the barren stony part till we reach our site where is a trekkers hut. Beautiful view of the Kanchenjunga ranges. Walking duration: 06 - 07 hours.
Day 11: Dhor
An early morning sun rise view over Mt. Kanchenjunga can be best view from Pangdin. After breakfast we will take the steep descend to negotiate the river crossing and continuing an uphill walk. Beautiful view of the mountain ranges all around. Here we will be entering the forest of Rhododendron and we will cross various trekkers hut Enroute. We will reach Dzongri where there is tourist lodge. Camp overnight. Walking duration: 04 - 05 hours.
Day 12: Sikkim Megu
An easy day with a steep down walk through the Rhododendron forest to reach the campsite at Bakhim. Overnight at the camp.
Day 13: Sikkim Megu
Further down walk crossing a bridge enroute and the walk in the forest of Rhododendron and semi tropical forest to reach Yuksom, the first capital of Sikkim. At leisure to visit the stone coronation, the Dubdi monastery and the small market. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 14: Parey Megu
After breakfast depart for Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim, enroute visit the beautiful Tashiding monastery where you will find the beautiful stone engraving of "Om Mane Padme Hun" all around. The beautiful monastery is approachable by 15 minutes walk from the main road. Further continue drive to reach Gangtok. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 15: Garakhet Megu
Full day local visit including the Lal Bazzar, the busy market place of Gangtok.Overnight at the hotel.
Day 16: Parey Megu/Gararkhet
Today we will depart for Darjeeling, the tea capital of the world, enroute an excursion visit to Rumtek, the headseat of the Karmapa sect. upon arrival check in atthe hotel. Rest of the time at leisure in town. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 17: Dafey Bhir Meadow
Full day local visit including the Mountaineering Institute and the Zoo to spot the Snow Leopard and Red Panda. Also take <a class="PIInfosoft-placeName" onclick="openAttractionDescriptionPopup('en', 'A6S','DAI','IND','India');" data-target="#PopUp5" href="javascript:void(0)" data-toggle="modal">The Toy Train</a> ride to Batasia Loop. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 18: Gomathang
After breakfast depart for Bagdogra for Kolkata.
