Day 1: Kolkata
Arrive and transfer to Hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2: Kolkata
Kolkata, capital of West Bengal is the nerve centre of intellectual and human values where many modern movements began in literature, art, cinema, theatre, science, politics and industry.Full day city tour visiting <a class="PIInfosoft-placeName" onclick="openAttractionDescriptionPopup('en', 'HWG','CCU','IND','India');" data-target="#PopUp5" href="javascript:void(0)" data-toggle="modal">The Howrah Bridge</a>, an important landmark denoting the city of joy. This hanging bridge is an architectural marvel of the country. The recently built Vidyasagar Setu, another architectural marvel, connects both the banks of the Hooghly River. Onto visit the <a class="PIInfosoft-placeName" onclick="openAttractionDescriptionPopup('en', 'VTM','CCU','IND','India');" data-target="#PopUp5" href="javascript:void(0)" data-toggle="modal">Victoria Memorial</a> built of White Marble. It was opened by Prince of Wales in 1924 and has a statue of Queen Victoria with other innumerous exhibits. Visit the Indian Museum and drive past <a class="PIInfosoft-placeName" onclick="openAttractionDescriptionPopup('en', 'DSQ','CCU','IND','India');" data-target="#PopUp5" href="javascript:void(0)" data-toggle="modal">Dalhousie Square</a>, <a class="PIInfosoft-placeName" onclick="openAttractionDescriptionPopup('en', 'STP','CCU','IND','India');" data-target="#PopUp5" href="javascript:void(0)" data-toggle="modal">St. Paul's Cathedral</a>, National Library, Shaheed Minar, Eden Garden, Fort William and drive past city centre. Optional visit to Mother Teresa's Home of Charity.
Transfer to airport to fly to Tezpur and drive to Kaziranga Wildlife Sanctuary. The drive ride is along the river basin. Afternoon seasoning biking in the local area around Kaziranga, mostly cross-country. Overnight stay at Tourist Lodge at the Wild life Park.
Leaving behind the National park we ride along metalled roads in generally good condition, with a few not so good stretches breaking the speed. The traffic density is very low. The road is almost like a roller coaster ride at few stretches with Tea Gardens along both sides. It is advised not to go very fast as lot of workers of the Tea Gardens as well as stray animals are found crossing the roads.
Day 5: Kaziranga
Its time to say a temporary good bye to the road as we board the Ferry & load the bikes to cross to the other side of the bank of river at Sonarigaon. Ferry crossing of this river is a unique experience and you will find yourself travelling with local business men women carrying with them cattle and others edible items to be sold at Dibrugarh.
Located at an altitude of 300 meters, Along is the headquarter of west Siang district in Arunachal Pradesh. Enroute we will visit Jirdin, Kabu and Kaying villages. Interesting to see is a local hanging bridge on the Siang river made of cane and bamboo. This bridge is around 70 m long and is the connection for the hill tribes.
Day 7: Dibrugarh
Ride to Daporijo, the headquarter of the Upper Subansri district of Arunachal Pradesh, located at an altitude of 600m. The international boundary to China is just 400 km from the Taliha, 60 km from Daporijo. Enroute you can visit a few tribal villages in Daporijo.
At an altitude of 1,572 m Ziro is one of the most beautiful hill stations of the area, Ziro, fringed by lofty mountains. The ride is through lush forest hill sides and pass tribal settlements of the Nishi Hill Miri tribes.
Day 9: Pasighat
Itanagar is the capital town of the state of Arunachal Pradesh with modern settlement built in the vicinity of the ruins of the 14th century old fort capital. The archaeological remains of this medieval capital comprises of two brick wall ramparts.
Bomdila, the head quarter of west Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh is located at an altitude of 8000 ft and offers a marvellous view of the snow capped Himalayas. We can also visit the Tibetan refugee camp at Tenzingoan, which is 40 km from Rupa.
Day 11: Along
Today the road is fairly steep as it soars uphill. Located at an altitude of 10200 ft, Tawang is inhabited by the Monpa tribe and is the birth place of the sixth Dalai Lama. Enroute Tawang you can visit the Tsela lake 14000ft, Nurnang water fall, the sheep breeding farm at Sangti valley and the Yak research centre at Nyukmudung.
Day 13: Daporijo
Today is the last day on motorbike as we drive back to Tezpur.
