Description: Pangot is small village 15 kilometers from Nainital, the drive takes only 25 minutes to get there. The entire drive is through the forested area of Cheena Peak Range via Snow View Point and Kilbury, the main habitats for excellent birding. One can see a variety of Himalayan species along the way such as lammergeier, Himalayan griffon, blue-winged minla, spotted & slaty-backed forktail, rufous-bellied woodpecker, rufous-bellied niltava, khalij pheasant, variety of thrushes etc. Almost 150 bird species have been recorded at Pangot and surrounding areas.The numerous perennial & seasonal creeks are home to an amazing variety of flora and fauna including the leopard, yellow-throated Himalayan martins, Himalayan palm civet, ghoral, barking deer, sambhar etc

Room Facility: The lodge has 4 cottages with attached toilets with running hot & cold water. One of the four cottages is a living room that serves the purpose of a dining hall. The other three cottages are independent bedrooms with twin beds, two of them having an attic each that can accommodate two additional persons in each attic. The main cottage and one other cottage have fireplaces. Heaters are provided in each cottage in winter. You have the options of large tent for people who enjoy camping with independent toilet and bathroom. The small cottage has an attached toilet and a hot shower. Other Facility: What to wear? Jungle Colours such as beige, brown, khaki and olive green which are least disturbing to the environment and therefore most appropriate comfortable safari clothes and shoes made for easy walking are recommended. Light woollens are suggested for the summer months. Rain gear is essential for the monsoons.

Others: Birding: Almost 150 avian species have been registered in the area. The lodge itself provides with excellent birding opportunities. Besides, there are walks through the terrace fields into thickly wooded oak forest, which are home to some of the rarest species.
