Over 15,000 objects and archival items relating to the history, pre-history and culture of the Blue Water area can be found here. Two rotating exhibition areas, a local history gallery, an extensive musical instrument collection, the Lee M. Cooper Marine Gallery, the Frank Crevier Pilot House, a late 1850s log cabin, and more can be enjoyed. This museum also operates three other satellite museums - the Huron Lightship Museum, the Thomas Edison Depot Museum, and the Fort Gratiot Lighthouse.
