An Interpretive Center at the dam site acquaints the visitor with the geology, culture, and history of the area. The Green River is the longest river flowing completely in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. A historic log house is located at the Visitor Center, near the dam. Green River Lake is located approximately 40 miles east of the Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historic Site. The lake was completed by the Corps of Engineers in 1969.
The Friendship is a one-room schoolhouse that was moved from Bengal, Kentucky, to near Taylor County High School in 1992 as a Kentucky Bicentennial Project. The museum contains historic school memorabilia from 1918-1955.
The Area comprises 20,500-acres where you will see deer, quail, rabbit, squirrel, dove, wild turkey.
