It is a heritage museum in Ishpeming.It celebrates the history of the Marquette Iron Range. The museum is operated by "Marquette Range Iron Mining Heritage Theme Park Inc.", a nonprofit group.The Cliffs Shaft mine complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1992.
The greats of American skiing are honored here. The development of the sport is shown through photographs, antique grooming equipment, a cable car, trophies and other memorabilia. An 18-minute orientation videotape also is available.
