One of the city`s most unusual attractions, Milwaukee`s International Clown Hall of Fame was established in 1986 to honor clowns from around the world.In addition to idolizing clowns over the years and giving the most famous ones recognition, this venue also contains many clown artifacts on display,as a museum to the art.
Spanning 200 acres / 80 hectares, the Milwaukee County Zoo includes almost 2,500 animals, zoned according to continents. The habitats that have been created for the animals appear quite natural and feature exotic animals, with attractions including koalas, sea lions and polar bears. It is considered one the best museums in America and provides a great day out for the family, with its entertainment shows.
Exhibits range from a Costa Rican rainforest to life size animated dinosaurs.
Harking back to the days when the city was full of German immigrants, this marvelous example of Belle Epoche architecture was built by Captain Frederick Pabst on what is today known as Milwaukee`s Avenue of Mansions. It was completed in 1892 and includes 37 rooms, 12 bathrooms and 14 fireplaces.The mansion has been preserved, along with period furniture, as a museum to the era.
