Description
Orissa coastline has some of the most finest beaches on the eastern coact of India. One of such beaches is the Paradeep beach. Although the eastern coast beaches of India are beautiful, they are also prone to cyclones. Similar such cyclone had hit this beach in 1999. Since then resurrection work has been undertaken and today, the Paradeep beach is one of the best and the most modern ports of Orissa. <br />The name Paradeep is derived from the word paradweep, meaning an island in the local language, and it actually is an island. It is an estuary of the great Mahanadi River. It has evergreen forest and creeks alongside and ofcourse the beautiful beach to boast of.Location
Located in the district of Jagatsinghpur, Paradeep is around 95 kms from Cuttack and 125 kms from the capital of the state, Bhubaneshwar.
