Description
The prime junction on the Indian Railways, and an easy route to reach Jabalpur, Katni is the biggest diesel loco, and also has the largest yard in India. Railways from all over the country come here and one can take a rail to any place in India from here. There are many places worth a visit nearby Katni, the most important being Jhinjhari that is hardly three kms from here. Jhinjhari is famous for its rock paintings, which are believed to belong the pre historic era. Another place is the Tigavan and the Bahoriband. Both have ruins of ancient temples and still have beautiful idols of various Gods and Goddesses that scatter around.
